kulturino / Europäische Projektwerkstatt Kultur im ländlichen Raum e.V. is a registered nonprofit organization, developing and testing cultural concepts for rural areas. As with all our work, our recent prize-winning projects for young people have primarily sought to tackle two of the most evident problems in many rural areas throughout Europe: the lack of cultural opportunities, and demographic change (Landflucht). We try to promote the advantages of a balanced urban-to-rural life ratio and we have turned the weak infrastructure of our surroundings to the advantage of the program. Thus, our projects have been successful in reintroducing our landscape, the Thuringian Forest, to the mental map of many young families.
