Kulturbahnhof Viktoria – K9
The KulturBahnhof Viktoria in Itzehoe is not an event venue; it is a network for active alliances to promote culture, education and inclusion. The guiding principle is social innovation. The operator of the KulturBahnhofs is the non-profit association K9 – Kultur e.V.; it has been active in supporting urban/rural alliances and placing socio-culture in provincial areas. Long-term projects include the StörFrequenz studio, which connects the region as a radio-based integrative space, and the Kulturloge: it provides low-income guests with free admission tickets. The InklusionsWerkstatt Gelbe Musik und Blaue Monde brings together people with and without handicaps for common projects that transcend all cultural genres. The Projektbüro Stadtklang gives an auditory location for the region and cities and develops SoundScapes – not just for the blind. In addition, the OrganisationsBüro serves as a regional interface for the „Industriekultur am Wasser“ biennial in the Hamburg metropolitan region as well as for diverse initiatives and associations.
