Vasileios Nanis
Vasileios Nanis is an Archaeologist (MA, Classical Archaeology) and licensed tour guide, with a background in field archeology (both in Greece and abroad); archiv- ing of collections; educational programs for temporary museum exhibitions; and youth-exchange with European nonprofit youth organizations. He has a particular inter- est in the multicultural historical past of the city of Thes- saloniki, as for several years he worked as a coordinator for the excavations held by the Ephorate of Byzantine Antiquities for the new subway construction (until 2015). Through the experience gained in the fields of personnel management and scientific validation and through inter- action with tourists and citizens, he is trying to find new approaches to knowledge diffusion, especially when not directed exclusively towards a well-informed audience. Continuingly seeking urban connections, his aim is to create bridges between diversities in order to promote the meaning of common heritage.
