Project Title

Wir sind groß

The project “Wir sind groß” (“we are big”) was the creation and implementation of a workshop that aimed to motivate both parents and children to spend creative time together. The target group was 8 children from 9 to 15 years and their parents (from 6 different families). The children had been already attending an art workshop for the past 3 years and they were about to have their own exhibition. Thinking that they were experi- enced enough, they invited their parents via a video to a 1-on-1 workshop in which the children were the instructors. During the workshop, the children had the opportunity to be confident in a familiar environment where they were the experts and to show their parents their creativity and passion for the arts. At the same time, parents were led by their children’s imagination and knowledge. The project and its outcomes were presented in the final exhibition, together with a video taken during the process.

Host Institution

Built in 1906, the landmarked Honigfabrik was originally a margarine factory. A honey factory moved in after the Second World War, giving the building its current name. The honey production ceased in 1997 and a cultural institution moved in in 1979.
