Sofia Bouratsis

2015/16 Thessaloniki

Born to Greek parents in Luxembourg, she attended the European School of Luxembourg. She then continued her studies in France and Spain following an academic and professional career simultaneously, as a researcher in social sciences – in the field of Art Sciences and Philosophy – and an art professional – as theorist and curator. She moved to Greece in January 2015, after the completion of her PhD thesis precisely because of the crisis – from the Greek word krisis which means judgement – because she is convinced that something important is going on in the complex fields of art and creation in this country that goes through one of the worst periods of its recent history.
