FELLOWS

Marina Naki

2019/20 Athens

Marina studied for her Master in Architecture degree at NTUA (GR). She strongly believes in the power of hands-on work and has participated in various workshops and projects, including: building with natural materials, restoration of old structures and interpretation of cultural heritage. As part of her thesis, she organised a series of workshops for about 200 children, 6 to 12 years old, as well as a project with the School of Fine Arts.

Through her ongoing work with children (also as a team leader in summer camps) Marina believes that triggering children’s creativity and cultivating new skills is of crucial importance. In her project, Building Seeds (part of the START sociocultural program), Marina combines building workshops for children and traditional architecture as a way to work towards sustainable communities. Also as part of START, Marina took her placement with CGE Erfurt e.V. (DE) as an excellent opportunity to improve her organisation skills and collaborate with innovative individuals.
