Maria-Marina Boukiou

Maria-Marina Boukiou is an economist, specialized in Heritage-Cultural Management. She has a strong interest in Public Archaeology, Strategic Planning of Cultural Heritage, Tourism Marketing and Promotion of Cultural Heritage, Archaeological Site Management and Planning. In recent years she is involved in two cultural societies being responsible for the member's management and especially the young people's management and involvement with the society. Her public archaeology interest also has been practiced in the field of the archaeological sites, where she is working on the engagement of the local societies with their heritage and the development that can come through this.

Project Title

The Cultural Diversity in Pforzheim – Engaging the Locals!

Maria-Marina Boukiou realized a theatrical performance presenting the results of a research about Pforzheim’s history through an overview of its cultural diversity background.

The project team was one of the theatrical ones acting in Kulturhaus and presenting their work during an October event.

Project stages:

- Interaction among the team members though theatrical games

- Cultural background introduction of each other and exchange of cultural diversity elements

- Research on Pforzheim’s history and its cultural diversity

- Creating a scenario including all the outputs and the impact aimed to be spread over

- Organization and realization of the theatrical performance

- Interaction and networking among the members of the audience based on the impact

Kulturhaus Osterfeld e.V. is a socio-culture center in Pforzheim, Baden-Württemberg.

Since its opening on September 2, 1994, Osterfeld has developed into the largest cultural and communication center in the region. Each year, up to 150,000 visitors and users take part in the activities of the institution.
