Project Title

On the Road

I chose to challenge myself and do something that I have not done before. A public blog-diary with my impressions and experiences during the job shadowing at AlarmTheater. It is a communication tool that I will also employ in my main project in Greece, documenting the development of young people’s theater groups and their growth week by week: engaging the audience and attracting possible future partners.

Under the umbrella of the blog (ontheroadfor6weeks.blogspot.de) I delved into various activities: attending international conferences, organizing video workshops for refugee youth and visiting another social-cultural centers in Germany.

Host Institution

Alarm Theater

Bielefeld’s AlarmTheater marries dance, music, song and performance in its productions and projects. Reality is examined. Where do we come from? What kind of world do we live in? What do we dream of? We stand for authentic theater with ‘experts in the everyday’ (people of different ages and origins) and aim to provoke thought. We develop our productions around contemporary themes such as flight, racism, dementia and unemployment. Since 2013 there has been a clear focus on the work with unaccompanied refugee minors.
