Project Title

Queer Ink

Queer Ink is a publishing initiative aiming at producing, publishing and promoting printed and electronic material on feminist and queer politics. Queer Ink aspires to publish books and to produce material that opens political and theoretical discussions on its core topics. At the same time, Queer Ink promotes literary work produced by people who belong to sexual and other minorities. We build a creative community and spread the material produced within this community to the wider public. We investigate into new modes of publishing by producing e-books and poetic mobile applications and familiarise our audiences with such approaches via workshops and open discussions.

Queer as a verb means: "to take a look at the foundations of things and to question them". In that sense, Queer Ink aspires to queer the publishing process, new media and writing as such.

Project Title

Gutzine

Besides the great set of skills I acquired during my stay in Künstlerhaus, I also had the opportunity to follow my artistic vi- sion and develop a community-oriented publication. As a result, I developed a small queer publication that presented contri- butions from both local and Greek artists alongside my own texts and theoretical reflections. The result of this collaborative effort is called “Gutzine” and it operates as a queer publishing platform for artists, activists and writers whose work deals with issues of body politics, gender and sexuality. For the launch of “Gutzine”, we set up an event with performances, discussions and a general presentation of the work we had done so far.

Host Institution

Künstlerhaus Stuttgart

Künstlerhaus (artists’ house) was founded in 1978 as an initiative by Stuttgart artists and has since developed into a contemporary art institution of regional and international significance. Focal points of the exhibition and event programming include the communication of current tendencies in art, architecture, design and theory, as well as the connection of local and international debates. In addition, the Künstlerhaus hosts technical workshops for members and a studio program for professional artists, architects, designers and writers, which is reviewed yearly.
