Project Title

Prespa Stories

Prespa Stories is an initiative for the creation of a youth network in the cross-border region of Great Prespa lake through participatory workshops and new technologies.

Prespa Stories is a platform for the dialogue of youth communities in Great Prespa lake, the cross-border region of Greece, Albania, and FYR of Macedonia. We envision a youth network that goes beyond borders and is based on multiculturalism, freedom of expression and love for the homeland.

We develop participatory and educational processes that empower local youth communities and foster exchange and communication among them on a digital and physical level. Our goal is to promote cross-border interaction between young people for the exchange of ideas and the creation of synergies.

Using collective intelligence, the power of words and digital media, 30 high-school students of the municipalities of Prespes (Greece), Pustec (Albania) and Resen (FYR of Macedonia) create an interactive narrative for the lake they share.

Project Title

PostcarDD

The “PostcarDD” project aimed to tackle xenophobia and racism by facilitating the creation of social bonds among international youth groups – local and refugee – in Dresden. Kids and teenagers shared their interests, hobbies, concerns, and needs by exchanging postcards. In this way, they were encouraged to reflect on life, friendship and multicultural symbiosis in Germany, both in general and particularly in Dresden.

Host Institution

Kultur Aktiv

Kultur Aktiv e.V. promotes arts, culture, education and creative potential through international exchange and voluntary commitment. Kultur Aktiv was founded as an association in 2002 to support urban subculture in Dresden’s Neustadt district. Within ten years it was expanded to an organization that knows how to network and present arts and culture professionally in Germany and abroad. Geographically, we have a special focus on Eastern Europe and the Balkans. In our local projects we work with artists, young creative professionals, young people, migrant groups and refugees.
