START – Create Cultural Change

START is a capacity building and fellowship program for aspiring cultural managers in Greece. The program supports creative minds to kick-start cultural initiatives that generate a positive social impact on their local communities.

START Fellowship Celebration 2019

The "Bazaar of Ideas: Explore Socioculture" is a platform for exploration, participation and engagement for the creative community and citizens alike. The 2-day event offers a space to share and discuss impact driven ideas and ways to bring them into reality. Input will be given by 15 innovative START initiatives which have been launched over the past 6 months, creating cultural change in local communities all around Greece.

The event will take place at the Thessaloniki Concert Hall on June 26 and 27, 2019.

What's happening now?

Phase II is on! 15 Fellows are implementing their sociocultural initiatives all over Greece! Get to know them and their divers projects!


Anniversary and Conclusion

In the program year 2019/2020, START celebrates its 5th anniversary. With this 5th anniversary, the program is also coming to its conclusion. To date, 42 cultural initiatives have been implemented by START Fellows, mobilizing over 14,000 citizens all around Greece and empowering them in times of crisis.

By reaching the finishing line in 2020, 150 Fellows will have participated in the program, forming a strong network of cultural managers. This growing community of change makers will continue to inspire new ideas to initiate and sustain sociocultural development Greece.
